De-carbonisation of Learning Centre
Space Engineering were approached, by our client, to look at a scheme for Carmarthen County Council. As part of the de-carbonisation process, the Learning Centre wanted to replace the existing boiler system with a heat pump system.

Our objective was to remove the existing gas supplies and gas fired boiler. This included an existing single pipe heating system and radiators.

This enabled the team to install a new air to water heat pump, flow & return pipework and radiators.

We selected a Mitsubishi heat pump for the project. Due to the fabric of the building, the equipment was sized on 80w/m2. The CAHV-P500YB-HPB is capable of 43kw with a heating outlet of 60°c

The installation included new energy meters and a heat pump enclosure.
