Road Safety Week – Safe Roads For All
14 Nov 2022
Today, Monday 14th November, sees the start of Road Safety Week, which is the biggest road safety campaign in the UK. The theme this year is SAFE ROADS FOR ALL. This includes, not just vehicles, but pedestrians and cyclists too.
Most road deaths and injuries are caused by unsafe driver behaviour. Drivers cause death and injuries when they fail to predict, see, or react to hazards. This is usually due to driving too fast for the road conditions or manoeuvring when it is not safe to do so. During 2021 1,608 people were killed and 26,701 were seriously injured on the UK’s roads, approximately a third involved people who were driving for work at the time of the incident.
Like many organisations, Space Engineering take the safety of their employees and other road users very seriously, so throughout the week we will be sharing important road safety messages with our staff. These will include speed awareness, vehicle checks and mobile phone use.
Continuing to raise awareness will help save lives
